Projects are ordered by the lower bound of their score, not the score itself. A 5.0 from a single reviewer therefore ranks below a 4.6 from forty — the first is a guess, the second is evidence. Every project also carries a confidence label separate from its score, so a thin sample announces itself instead of hiding behind a round number.
Reviews are weighted, not counted. The weight comes from how expensive the reviewer's identity is to fake, whether their past reviews were found useful by people who disagree with each other, and — where a project has an on-chain program — whether their wallet history with it looks like use rather than a visit. We keep the exact weighting deliberately private, so it cannot be gamed.
Open any project above and use the form on its page. A review needs a rating, a headline and at least 60 characters of actual experience — what you used it for, what worked, what did not. Reviews that are purely promotional, contain links, or attack a team rather than describe a product are not published.
Who can write a review?
Anyone with an X account of at least 40 followers. Signing in with X gives us your handle, follower count and account age — nothing is posted on your behalf, and we never ask for a password. The handle is published alongside the review.
Can a project pay to change its rating?
No. Ratings are computed from published community reviews only. X1 Report does not sell placement, and moderation removes reviews regardless of who they favour.
How do you stop fake reviews?
Four layers: an identity that costs money or months to farm, one review per account per project, a weighted score where new and suspicious accounts count for less, and manual approval of every entry. Coordinated bursts are detected and surfaced to moderators rather than silently accepted, and the exact weighting is kept private so it cannot be gamed.
Why does a 5.0 with one review rank below a 4.6 with forty?
Because one review is not evidence of much. Ranking uses a statistical lower bound rather than the raw mean, and every score carries a separate confidence label so a thin sample is visible rather than disguised.
How do I get my project listed?
Use the project submission form. Submissions are reviewed for the ecosystem directory and for editorial coverage.
Can I have a review removed?
Reviews that break the guidelines — spam, personal attacks, or claims that are demonstrably false — are removed on request via the contact page. Negative but accurate reviews stay up.
